HALFPENNY, William (d.1755). Practical Architecture. London: Thomas Bowles, 1736. 8° (163 x 93mm). Engraved title, dedication to Thomas Frankland and contents page, 48 engraved plates including tables (lightly dampstained, corners worn towards end). Contemporary calf, single gilt filet (rebacked, corners repaired). Provenance: H. Hagley (inscription on pastedown) -- presentation inscription dated 1929. Fifth edition. The edition of 1730 is also referred to in its title as a 'fifth edition'. The two differ only by the date and the address given for Bowles, the printseller. Harris 309; RIBA 1447.
