An identical example with the same gold pattern but with a brownish glaze is illustrated in Geng Bao Chang, A Compilation of Chinese Cultural Masterpieces, Cultural Relics Bureau, Hong Kong 1993, pl.784.
Variations of this kind of kinrande ewer are mainly found in Japanese museums and collections. Several are in the Matsuoka Museum of Art, Tokyo, illustrated in Inaugural Exhibition, Selected Masterpieces of the Matsuoka Museum of Art, pl. 75 and 76 ; and in Selected Masterpieces of the Matsuoka Museum of Art, Catalogue, pl. 78 and 79; cf. also S.
