Lot Essay

By the same hand as a sketchbook now in the collection of the University of Göttingen (Niederländische Gemälde und Zeichnungen des 17. Jahrhunderts aus der Kunstsammlung der Universität Göttingen, exhib. cat., Dortmund, 1984, p. 21). That album has been attributed to Reiner Nooms, called Zeeman, although an alternative attribution to Casembroot may also be considered for both the album and the present drawings.
