Late 16th Century, probably Audenarde
Woven in wools and silks, depicting wild animals including an ostrich, a crocodile, a monkey and a heron, in a wooded landscape with peasants and a settlement in the background, within an elaborate ribbon twist and strapwork border decorated with satyrs and flower-filled baskets, lacking border to top and bottom, areas of restoration and reweaving, including a circa 12 in. x 43 in. patch to the bottom left corner, with vertical cuts, later light brown guard border
