Each with shaped rectangular twin hinged flap top crossbanded in rosewood, the rear edge of the top inlaid with a half-fan medallion, bound with ribbon-tied foliage, on a harewood ground, one enclosing a blue baize-lined playing-surface above a panelled frieze, the other enclosing a satinwood-lined interior, on square tapering legs headed by simulated triglyphs, on brass caps and castors, the underside of one top with paper label inscribed in an 18th century hand 'Bischoff'

The Bischoff family are recorded in the late 16th and early 17th century in Baden and Württemburg in south western Germany and also in northern Switzerland. By the 1730s, Bischoffs are recorded in England.
