Each with original square beadwork and blue needlework padded foot-rest above a rockwork and moulded apron, on scroll feet, losses to the gilding and beadwork, stamped 'T.G.', one inscribed in pencil 'J. J. Clark' with original scrim and webbing

Gillows of Lancaster supplied large quantities of furnishings for Mere Hall and several generations of Langford-Brookes patronised the famous firm throughout the first half of the 19th century.
