lid engraved "Herren Doppelspiel o.U. I. Preis, Cöln 1910, G.m. O.Froitzheim v. Golding/Routledge 6/4 4/6 3/6 6/2 8/6", 11¾in. (31cm.) high; two continental silver cups, both engraved with the Swedish coat-of-arms, one engraved "I. Preis Herren Einzelspiel m.V. 1914", the other "I. Preis Herren=Doppelspiel 1912", 4in. (10cm.) high and smaller; and a smaller pair of cups, one engraved "R.C.S. 1925 Herreneinzel 3.Kl. 3. Preis", the other "R.C.S. 1925 Dameneinzel 2.Kl, 3. Preis", both 1¾in. (4.5cm.) high. (5)

Lot Essay

The above claret jug was awarded as first prize to G.O.Froitzheim for a Men's Double Tournament held in Cologne, 1910. The two cups dated 1912 and 1914 were donated by King Gustav-Adolf of Sweden to the winners of a Mens' Doubles and Ladies' Singles tournament.
