Tasting note: This property continues to display considerable potential, and it should be sought out by readers looking for a good value in high-quality wine. The 1997 exhibits a saturated purple color, pure, sweet, black cherry and berry fruit, well integrated new oak, and a touch of minerals and licorice. Ripe, with low acidity, and admirable flat and chewiness, this plump, fleshy, low-acid, well-endowed wine will drink exceptionally well during its first 10 years of life, although I suspect it will last longer.
