Château Haut-Brion--Vintage 1982
Pessac (Graves), 1er cru classé
One slightly damaged label, the rest has good appearance. Good levels
Tasting note: 12,000 cases made, far fewer than the other 1er crus classés. So different in style, so good - and a totally different cepages mix, roughly 50/50 cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, on the deep Pessac soil. A glowing, mature, tile-red; sweet, now very soft, rich, complete. Tannin assimilated. Superb. Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine, 2002. (4/2002) *****
