Signed Omi no kami Tadayoshi, Edo Period (18th century)
The blade honzukuri, shallow toriizori, iorimune, chu-kissaki, forging pattern ko-itamehada with ji-nie, irregular suguha hamon of nie, chumaru boshi, ubu nakago, 45.2cm., in its brown saya lacquered to imitate basketwork with dragon roundels (some lacquer damage and uragawara replaced), shakudo nanako fuchi-kashira with flowers and leaves in iroe takazogan signed Masayoshi and dated to 1848, shakudo tsuba with flowers and a stream in yo-sukashi, gilt details, signed Masatoshi, Bushu school, shakudo menuki with gilt kiku, wood kozuka carved with a cicada under an ivory moon, signed Kozan and kao at the age of 72, horn kurikata, 19th century
