The frame of the set made in the form of two interlocking tsuzumi, the skins represented in kinji with red cords sprinkled with kin-fun and with black lacquer petal-lobed surrounds to the cord holes, the bodies of the tsuzumi forming the ends of the frame and decorated over the mura-nashiji ground with pine and cherry trees in takamaki-e and hiramaki-e in silver and two colours of gold, the carrying handles in silver, with bosses in the form of cherry blossoms, the interior of the frame in nashiji, the octagonal jubako similarly decorated, the top of the cover with a roundel of cherry and pine, with a curved diaper-patterned fundame edge and the sides with shinobugusa and chrysanthemum mon, the other tiers with bands of pinks, plum blossom, maple leaves, pine needles, and fern, the interior of red lacquer with fundame rims, the tokkuri in the form of a drum with a roundel of plum, the wood body expressed with mokume in silver and two colours of gold and the stopper and nailheads of silver, the drum stand, lower tray and upper tray are decorated with cherry blossom and pine sprays, all with nashiji undersides and the lower tray with red interior and fundame rims, ten trays in the form of leaves, in green, gold and black lacquer with mura-nashiji, fundame edges and nashiji undersides
