The blade o-suriage, the details of the hamon and hada obscured by scratching, unsigned, the entire mounting elaborately carved with a passing samurai watching a multitude of farmers, men, women and children, at countryside pursuits, such as planting rice seedlings, gathering fruit and vegetables, collecting brushwood, making mochi, winnowing rice, unloading a basket of fish, packing rice, and a sarumawashi's monkey stealing fruit from a man's basket, the divisions between the scenes, the tsuba and the hanging rings carved with ho-o, dragons, reishi fungus, kiku, kiri and karakusa, slight old damage
