A Victorian engraved gilt-brass carriage timepiece, mid 19th Century
The rectangular case engraved with foliate scrolls to the front and sides, raised on milled bun feet, with fixed handle to the funnel top, centred by a circular movement viewing glass with slow/fast regulation, the silvered Roman dial with blued steel moon hands, the eight day single fusee movement with plain steel three-arm balance to the lever escapement, with shuttered winding holes to the rear door, the case numbered 988 to the underside -- 5 in. (14 cm.) high
