A Victorian walnut five-glass mantel timepiece, circa 1900
The case with bevelled glass to stepped top, panelled section to the front, on block feet, with silvered sight ring to brass (formerly silvered ) Roman dial signed DENT within a triangle and 41 PALL MALL/LONDON, with number below 62941, blued steel hands, the eight day movement with four back-screwed pillars, single chain fusee with anchor escapement, spot-finished plates and conforming pendulum bob, holdfast to back plate with repeat signature and number -- 10¼ in. (26 cm.) high
