The breakarch case with brass side handles above diamond-pierced frets, inset Corinthian columns to the front angles and on brass bracket feet, leaf cast brass frame to the front door, the dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre, with subsidiary rings to the arch for chime/silent and Cambridge/Eight bells selection, the eight day triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, quarter chimes on eight bells and hour strike on gong, with holdfast to florally engraved back plate -- 19¼ in.
