One sleeve bears a handwritten note reading: 'Mrs Fox's wedding gown. It was trimmed with 15 yards of lace like the piece on one sleeve 14 of which was an inch wide. Mrs Fox was Mary Bristowe and married Saml. Fox in Jan 1756.'
