ATTRIBUTED TO THE PAINTER OF BM F500, CIRCA 350-320 B.C.
One side with a bearded centaur, his legs folded under, holding a staff in his left hand, a wreath in his right, adorned with beaded bandoliers, a rayed diadem in his unruly hair; the other side with a youthful satyr to the right depicted nude but for boots, a beaded bandolier and a fillet, a tambourine in his lowered hands, the draped and bejeweled maenad to the left holding a thyrsos in her left hand, a ball of wool in her right; a band of meander and dotted saltire squares below the scenes, a band of laurel above, palmettes and tendrils below the handles, details in added white
