The obverse with Skylla facing left, depicted with a nude female torso and the serpentine tail of a sea creature, brandishing a sword in her right hand, adorned with a beaded necklace; the reverse with a bearded nude satyr playing a tambourine, and a draped maenad moving to the right but looking back, her right arm lowered, her raised left hand holding an amphoriskos, a fillet hanging above; a band of meander and dotted saltire squares encircling the body below the scenes, a band of wave above, a central palmette topped by a flower flanked by palmettes and tendrils below the handles; the lid decorated with bands of wave and laurel and berries
