THE WHITE SAKKOS WORKSHOP, CIRCA 330-320 B.C.
The obverse with a draped woman within an Ionic naiskos, seated in profile to the right on a stool, holding a kalathos in her raised right hand, an alabastron suspended before her, wearing a white belted chiton, a red mantle wrapped around her legs, a draped female attendant to the left holding a mirror, a nude youth to the right holding a wreath and staff, the shoulders with a profile female head wearing a sakkos between upraised wings, bands of rosettes and dots below, bead-and-reel on the handles, the neck bisected by a raised molding with zigzag, a palmette above, white rays and meander below; the reverse with a nude Eros seated an a pile of rocks, his wings outstretched, holding a cista and a grape cluster, a basket of cake above, a ball of yarn in his lowered left hand, a palmette and tendrils on the shoulders, a band of laurel and berries below, the neck bisected by a raised molding with a yellow fillet, a palmette above, white rays and V's below; a band of wave encircling the body below the scenes, dotted ovolo on the rim, details in added yellow, red and white, the foot open through to the interior
