The body and shoulders ribbed, a plain band of chevrons between, a medallion below the handle plates, a wreath below the rim on each side with a central medallion, framed by raised pellets, with a mold-made mask of Athena applied to the shoulders below the arching handle, in imitation of the bail handles of metal situlae, the goddess wearing a helmet and a dotted necklace, the other side with a lion-head spout, its interior perforated to serve as a strainer, the handle preserving original lead pins from an ancient repair
