A silver St. George bugle
with unrecorded Cyrillic mark AB, 1896-1908, the mouthpiece with unrecorded Cyrillic mark LM, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917
The circular flared bugle applied with a silver St. George cross and inscribed in Russian 'To the 14th East Siberian rifle regiment for the beating off of the assault on the East front of Port Arthur, 7-10 August 1904', with applied hatched bands to the rim and upper mount, the latter with a further floral band, marked on upper mount and mouthpiece, entwined with a large tassled ribbon of the Order of St. George

Lot Essay

For its military action in 1904 during the Russian-Japanese War, the 14th East Siberian rifle regiment received officially on 6th December 1906 a number of St. George bugles and a St. George regimental standart. See V. Chabanov, The military order of St. George, Moscow, 2004, p. 891.
