A REGENCE GILT-BRONZE-MOUNTED AND CRIMSON SILK-VELVET COVERED TRUNK
With geometric close-nailed decoration, the rectangular hinged domed top enclosing a crimson silk-lined interior, with C-scroll and foliate cartouche-shaped lock-plates flanked by similarly modelled carrying handles to the sides, losses to the velvet covering
21½ in. (54 cm.) high; 46 in. (117 cm.) wide; 24¾ in. (63 cm.) deep

Possibly Baron Gustave de Rothschild (1829-1911), 23 avenue de Marigny, Paris and by descent to his granddaughter Sybil Sassoon.
