One of the jasper medallions of this elegant mirror features Cupid as 'Oracle' bearing the mask of Truth; a subject that was first produced by Wedgewood in the 1770s (R. Reilly, Wedgwood, vol. I, London, 1989, p. 529, pl. C131).
