Four Tibetan wooden manuscript covers, 14th-16th Century
one decorated in parcel-gilt and red lacquer and carved with panels depicting the Five Tathagatas, with Buddha Shakyamuni to one flank each seated on a lotus throne before a mandarla - 29 1/8in. (73.8cm.) long; three further covers variously carved in recessed panels with figures of Buddha and with further deities seated and standing before mandarlas and amongst dense scrollwork - 17 5/8in. (44.7cm.) long max. (4)
