The poster offered here is an example of the original German poster which was banned immediately after the film's première, so very few copies of the original exist. Versions of this poster appear with white borders and different coloured backgrounds, however these are not originals, but rather licensed reproductions from an art gallery in Germany.
The artwork for Querelle is unusual in that it is the only time Warhol specifically designed a piece for sole use on the film poster.
