Lot Essay

The Black Gestapo was a run-of-the-mill blaxploitation film that featured extreme violence. It was unusual, however, in that it featured black-on-black violence and the ultimate 'villain' of the piece was the gang itself which is corrupted by power. The film was originally released under the less provocative title, Ghetto Warriors.

When copies of this poster surface, it is usually for the Ghetto Warriors version and few of the Black Gestapo copies exist.
