LISZT, Franz (1811-1886). Two autograph letters signed, in French, the first to an unidentified count, n.p., 30 January 1840, in French, accepting an invitation which has determined him to spend a few days in Prague in mid-February, when he will come and knock on his correspondent's door, 'et reclamer de vous la continuation de cette bienveillance dont je suis reconaissant et fier', 2 pages, 8vo (horizontal tear, approximately 65mm, from right margin); the second to an unidentified Baron, n.p., 17 February 1868, in French, explaining he had only discovered a document which he encloses (not present) the previous day, as it had arrived in Rome during his absence, and offering his apologies, one page, 4to.
