Oblong and with a gadrooned rim, with two part-turned wood handles, the hinged cover with a reeded ring and foliage finial engraved with a coat-of-arms, the interior fitted with six detachable square dishes, above a compartment for water, fully marked

53 oz. (1,658 gr.)
The arms are those of Graeme quartering Montrose with a crescent for difference, presumably for the second son of a member of the Graeme family of Orchill, co. Perth, possibly Charles Graeme (1752-1833), second surviving son of David Graeme and his second wife the Hon. Louisa Nairne.
