The circular bases each with a gadrooned rim and a central vase shaped part fluted socket, terminating in a detachable nozzle with a gadrooned rim, the leaf-capped handle supports the conical extinguisher, each piece engraved with a crest within a garter and below an earl's coronet, marked under base, on nozzle and on extinguisher

The crest is that of Lowther, for William, 1st Earl of Lonsdale K.G. (1757-1844). (2)
