A GEORGE II SILVER KETTLE, STAND AND LAMP
MARK OF JOHN WHITE, LONDON, 1732
The kettle globular and engraved with foliate scrolls and masks, and a lozenge-of-arms, with an octagonal spout and an overhead handle, the detachable cover with a part-wood finial, the stand with three scroll legs, each on a bun foot and with a central burner, marked under the kettle, inside cover and on bottom of stand, the burner cover apparently unmarked

The arms are those of Cave impaling Verney, for the Hon. Margaret, Lady Cave, widow of Sir Thomas Cave 3rd Bt. (d.1719), whom ahe married in 1703. He served as M.P. for Leicester. She was the daughter of John, 1st Viscount Verney (d.1717).
