Cartouche shaped, the hinged cover with a raised and gilt depiction of Diana with putti before a river, the sides decorated with gilded classical figures in landscapes and a central vacant blue and gilt cartouche, the base painted with flowers, the inside of the lid set with a watercolour on parchment miniature of a seated lady and gentleman, with a child and a dog in a landscape, with post-1838 French marks
