Lot Essay

Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel was married to the future Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI (1685-1740). They were the parents of Empress Maria Theresa (see lots 84 and 89), and the grandparents of Queen Marie-Antoinette of France (see lot 119).
