With a raised edge around the top, panelled frieze with two opposing drawers and stop fluted blocks on fluted square tapering legs, headed by rosette roundels and with brass capped castors

Lot Essay

The design of this table relates to the work of David Roentgen, the German cabinet maker and entrepreneur who was active during the latter part of the 18th century. The gilt-metal bordered panelling of the frieze and the inset-brass fluting were common features of his work.
