Executed in 1975, the present works were created by Polke and Lucky Luke (his pseudonym), assisted by members of his studio, including: Kathrin Steffen, Achim Duchow, Astrid Heibach, Kaka Lemoine, Siggi Kraus and K. Sieverding.

The elements of these collages refer to the famous exhibition Je/Nous held at the Musée d'Ixelles from April to May 1975, as well as the artist's "circus-happening" Saltoarte that took place in a tent at Place Flagey. These collages evoke the atmosphere of these now historical events and reflect the post 1968 period when the critical spirit still reigned in the advanced circles of the art world.

Around the same time, Harald Szeemann (the Swiss curator) organized an international benefit exhibition and performance evening with the collaboration of around fifty artists including Carl Andre, Joseph Bueys, Panamarenko, Sigmar Polke and many others in an effort to support the leftist weekly POUR, which was directed by JC Garot and the present owner of these works.
