Il modello di Giuseppe Gricci, che a lungo è stato attribuito al periodo di Capodimonte, è da ritenersi coevo all'esecuzione del salotto di porcellana di Aranjuez. La presenza del giglio borbonico posto ben in evidenza sulla parte frontale della base, lascerebbe ipotizzare come destinazione l'arredo di una sala di un palazzo reale, se non proprio quello del salotto di Aranjuez.
