AN EDWARDIAN SILVER-GILT ROSE BOWL,

Compressed circular on four rams' heads & hoof supports, the two cast side handles modelled respectively as Pan and a nymph, the sides applied with cut-out satyrs chasing nymphs through foliate scrollwork, a cartouche on either side, with crest coronet of Harford to one side, the other with presentation inscription from the officers of the Scots Guards to Captain F.R. Harford dated "6th.December, 1916", with metal liner, 14½ in.(37 cm.) wide handle to handle, height 8¾ in. (22 cm.), 73 oz.
