Of compressed circular ,melon-fluted form, the flat, hinged covers engraved with Japanese characters, the bases with rayed fluting ressembling a flower head, engraved with a bird crest within a buckle and strap cartouche with motto "Nihil Quietius", marked inside covers, diameter 4 in. (10 cm.), 17.5 oz. (2)
