SUPERB DRY WHITE BORDEAUX
Lying in Twickenham, Middlesex (EHD)
Château Haut-Brion, Blanc--Vintage 1983
Pessac (Graves), cru classé
Dusty labels. Levels 3cms or better below base of corks
In original wooden cases
Tasting note: In the mid-1980s pale; charred oak nose; dry, firm, distinctive. 'A great future'. Most interestingly, at a Bacchus Society dinner alongside Laville. It had more depth and vinosity and far more power than the latter. Mouthfilling (13.5-14 alcohol) and impressive. Sep 1999 **** M.B.
