PULLING OUT OF A PROPOSED THEATRE TRIP. Dodgson writes to withdraw from 'the sort of proposal' he had made to take Edith to see The Mountebanks: 'Twice is as much as I care to see it. It has very pretty music, & some good comic acting: but I get tired of the choruses ...'. He substitutes, however, a proposal that he take either Edith or her sister May to a matinee of A Pantomime Rehearsal, a trip which is likely to be combined with an expedition either to Guildford or to Eastbourne.
