DODGSON, Charles Lutwidge ('Lewis Carroll'). Autograph letter signed ('C.L.D.') to Edith [Miller], Christ Church, Oxford, 22 November 1897, one page, oblong 8vo.
A brief note, asking Edith to read and quickly return a text (no longer present): 'I want to lend it to the other girl who will be with us -- a niece named "Nella" Dodgson', ending 'Yours not so unlovingly as you might think'.
Both Edith Miller and Nella Dodgson were teachers. Dodgson died only two months after the date of this letter, of pneumonia.
