The limited edition of Finnegans Wake was published on the same day as the first British and American trade editions: 4 May 1939. ('It came out at a bad moment ...' Connolly: The Modern Movement, 87). Of the 425 copies, 310 were sent to the United States, and not 300 as noted in the statement of limitation. The sheets were printed by Faber & Faber and the boards were made in England, although the binding was done in the United States.
