The pose of the first drawing in this lot was used by Pinelli in a watercolour of 1807 formerly with the Philips Gallery, London (M. Apolloni, Bartolomeo Pinelli e il suo tempo, Rome, 1983, no. 26) and was then taken up by Pinelli's pupil Luigi Ferrari in a watercolour of circa 1820 (M. Apolloni, op. cit., no. 168).
