These helmets were worn by the rebel fighters, and approximately 30 were made. Of those 30, some were customized as so-called 'hero' helmets to be used by lead characters including Luke Skywalker - the main differences being a painted finish, orange-tinted visors and different decals, each 'hero' helmet had individual decoration. The remainder, including this helmet, were left as they were and are seen being worn by secondary characters.
