Lot Essay

A similar glove box, with comparable sadeli hexagonal designs, was exhibited at the Universal Exhibition, Paris in 1867 and now acquired by the India Museum, see page 320, fig 135, Furniture From British India and Ceylon, Amin Jaffer, V&A Publications 2001.
