Oswald was created by Dean's in the hope he would be as successful as Mickey Mouse. Sadly he only was produced from 1932-34.

A rare Dean's Rag Book Co. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
of brown and white printed velvet, black boot button eyes, brown boot button nose, felt ears, integral orange velvet gloves, red velvet shorts and floral printed shoes, wool pom-pom tail, original belt and ribbon, 1932 --9in. (23cm.) high, registered number around neck (repair to one ankle and grafitti on soles of feet); and a Mickey Mouse Annual, inscribed and dated 1934 (slight wear, pencil grafitti and some colouring plates used)
