This bear followed the earlier rod-bear. The PAB coding indicates he has a new style of joints. The 'A' referring to Angeschiebt or disc-jointed. This bear is now one hundred years old this year.

A rare Steiff 35PAB elephant button 'cone-nosed' teddy bear
with reddish gold mohair, large black boot eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and five claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads, hump, soft stuffing and rare elephant button in ear, 1905 --18in. (46cm.) high, 35cm. seated (bald patches on muzzle, back of head and on body under arms, general wear and thinning, holes and tears in pads, stuffing shifted and faded)
