A Victorian mahogany table regulator with lost beat escapement
Wray & Son, Brimingham. Circa 1850
The case of arched form with glazed circular apertures to the sides, the front with pendulum aperture beneath the dial, the concave moulded base on bun feet, 20cm. diameter silvered brass dial engraved with a regulator lay-out and signed Wray & Son. Birmingham with blued steel hands, the movement with shouldered brass plates secured by four thick brass front-pinned pillars, single chain fusee and spring barrel, lost beat pin wheel escapement with high quality steel rod pendulum swinging against a silvered beat scale to the inside of the case
