The case with gilt-wood ball finials to caddy top, the 7in. square dial signed Whitehurst Derby on the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with blued steel hands, silvered alarm disc in the centre, the movement with three pillars, anchor escapement and alarm on a bell above the plates
