The dial signed John Ellicott London on the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic chapters and finely pierced blued steel hands, matted centre, Indian mask-and-foliate spandrels, strike/silent lever by chapter II, the arch with silvered seconds ring with matted centre and blued steel hand flanked by dolphin spandrels, the massive movement with nine brass pillars securing the extended plates, the going train with bolt-and-shutter maintaining power, deadbeat escapement with adjustable pallets, the escape wheel pinion meshing with a contrate wheel with very long arbor extending down to a further contrate wheel meshing with the great wheel, the strike train bell mounted to the right side with transverse hammer arbor crossing the inside of the movement, the case with skirted plinth, simple breakarch trunk door, the hood with three quarter columns and flat top; case and movement almost certainly associated
