A Queen Anne walnut and laburnum oyster veneered longcase clock

The case with ebonised and walnut mouldings to the double footed plinth, similar convex mouldings beneath the trunk door having an oval lenticle with later glass and brass moulding, the inside of the door pasted with the legend IDEN COLLECTION Inventory No. 3027 Daniel Quare and with further small label Robert Hills Collection - 11, convex throat moulding beneath the forward-sliding hood with later(?) olivewood twist columns with gilt capitals, later carved walnut cresting to the top, the 11in. square dial signed Dan Quare London on the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic chapters and half quarter markers, well pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with ringed winding holes and calendar aperture, silvered seconds ring, crown-and-cherub spandrels, the substantial movement with five latches to the six ring-turned pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on a later bell
